Marriage, Couple, Family and Individual Therapy
"But still, like air, I rise."
- Maya Angelou
Hello and welcome!
I am so glad you are here. It takes an enormous amount of courage to recognize our need for extra support. What we don't often realize is that we already have the tools to help us lean into our vulnerabilities and do the hard work. The tools we acquired helped us survive 100 percent of our worst days. I am here to provide you with a safe and supportive space to help you rise. Together we can embark on a journey to help you not just to survive, but to thrive.
I have a MA in Marriage, Couple and Family Therapy from Lewis and Clark College. I am EMDRIA trained to provide EMDR intervention for trauma and PTSD. I am also trained in the Gottman Method to provide support for couples at any stage of the relationship.
I am a MFT Associate in the states of Oregon (Reg. No. R7063) and Washington (Reg. No. MG61205359) under the supervision of Lynn Fontana, Ph.D., LMFT.
My training in marriage and family therapy helps me assess how I can best support your family, regardless of what your struggle may be. I work with individual members to explore coping mechanisms and to find tools that will help construct solutions and foster change.
Therapy can offer a safe place for couples to speak, be heard and increase communication in order to reduce conflict, enhance intimacy and foster mutual respect. I help couples identify negative relational patterns that are causing distress and work with them to disrupt those patterns in order to establish a more positive relational experience.
I combine my interest in the healing power of solution-focused therapy with my natural inclination towards systems-level thinking to help clients discover and develop their resources and tools. I work from a holistic perspective integrating mind, body, relationships, social locations, cultural influences, faith and spirituality in our work together. This helps me understand the context in which challenges arise and identify resources that may help resolve some of those challenges. I believe that therapy is a collaborative process in which the therapist and client work together to identify goals for therapy.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an evidence-based therapy for treatment of trauma based issues. This treatment uses bi-lateral stimulation to activate healing systems to help you reprocess traumatic memories from your past that are negatively affecting your ability to function in the present.
There are sliding scale slots available for those experiencing financial distress.
I currently do not take insurance, however, if you plan to separately submit a reimbursement request to your provider, I am able to provide an invoice upon request.
